Series of blasts rock North-East on Republic day, no casualties reported

Since all the explosions took place in no man's land, hence there were no casualties reported.

In a shocking turn of events, seven bomb blasts took place on January 26 across three districts of Assam while two explosions were also reported in Imphal east.

In Assam, the blasts occurred in the regions like Chowkidinghee in Dibrugarh district and at four locations of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Charaideo districts of eastern Assam. Since all the explosions took place in no man’s land, hence there were no casualties reported.

However, the Assam police have been blaming the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA). While the Assam DGP Mukesh Sahay said,”There have been 6 low-intensity blasts(in upper Assam) and all occurred in no man’s land. As of now, no damage of any kind has been reported.

Two blasts were also reported in Manipur. One was reported in Mantripukhri and another near Manipur college on January 26. However, no casualties have been reported from there as well.
