Problems began after a loan taken by three villagers was not repaid on time, and the moneylender filed a police complaint. Police arrested the trio along with another man and the arrested were thrashed, and even subjected to third-degree torture as per the allegations of the villagers. This led to an angry mob of about 150 people storming into the police station to demand their release, reports The Hindustan Times.

Sub Inspector Lakshman Rao and three constables sustained injuries in the attack and have been admitted to hospital.

“We will take stringent action against all those who attacked the police station and the policemen,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Babu said, reports the NDTV.
