Message from Manish Sisodia: Switch off news channels, head to Kashmir for a reality check

Manish Sisodia is seen encouraging people to let go of their doubts and visit the 'beautiful' Kashmir

You have all seen Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia give speeches, reach out to voters, but have you ever seen him play in the snow? In a video uploaded by the Jammu and Kashmir tourism, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister is seen throwing snowballs and playing with his family in the white mountains of Gulmarg.

Sisodia, in the video, is also seen encouraging people to let go of their doubts and visit the ‘beautiful’ Kashmir. “I’m standing at a height of 14,000 feet and I’m calling you here to visit Jammu and Kashmir and see the beauty of this place. All the violence that you see on television is mostly happening in just a small part of the state. The entire state is very beautiful, the people of Kashmir are extremely beautiful,” he said adding ‘aaiyega zaroor‘ (please do come). Due to repeated incidents of violence in Kashmir, the state has witnessed a drop in tourism.

Putting out the video, Jammu and Kashmir tourism thanked Manish Sisodia for being the brand ambassador of the state. “We thank him for returning from here as an ambassador of peace and tourism in the state,” the tourism department said on its official page.

His words made many people belonging to Kashmir nostalgic about the state. “This is my Kashmir I miss it lot coming soon InshahAllah,” a Facebook user said.

Many appreciated his support for the state.

Sisodia was in Srinagar to take part in the 14th Council meeting of the Goods and Services Tax. “This is the most important GST meeting for taxpayers and businessmen of the country,” he had tweeted on May 18 adding that he will advocate for ‘lower the tax rates, more the compliance’ formula.
