Karnataka: Man held for raping and killing a 9-year-old boy

The accused confessed to raping and killing the minor boy. The body of boy was recovered by the police from the Rajiva Nagara forest area in Karnataka

In a shocking incident, a 9-year-old boy was allegedly raped and killed by a man from his village. The incident which took place in Haveri district in Karnataka came to light on Tuesday when the boy’s father filed a complaint of his missing son.

According to The News Minute, the accused has been identified as Subhash Agasimani, he offered the boy to sit on his motorbike while he on his way back home from a feast. Once he sat on his bike, Subhash Agasimani took the boy to Rajiva Nagara forest area and allegedly raped him.

Bankapur Police Inspector Anjaneya said, “Subhash smashed the boy’s private parts, strangulated him and killed him. We suspect that the boy died out of asphyxiation, though we are waiting for forensic and post-mortem reports to ascertain the cause of death”.

Unable to trace of his son, in the evening boy’s father filed a missing complaint with the police. He also suspected involvement of Subhash Agasimani in the missing of his son because in past too Subhash Agasimani has allegedly sexually abused boys from the village. Few villagers also saw the boy with Subhash Agasimani on his motorbike before he went missing.

Police apprehended Subhash Agasimani from his house. When questioned, he confessed to raping and killing the minor boy. The team of police recovered boy’s body from the forest area.

A case has been registered against Subhash Agasimani under various sections: section 363 (Kidnap), section 302 (murder), 377 (unnatural sex), 201 (destruction of evidence), and sections 4, 6 and 12 of POSCO. He is currently lodged in Haveri district sub-jail.
