A man identified as Shiv Kumar Verma has claimed that a group of Muslim men physically assaulted and tortured him after he stopped them from abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Shiv Kumar has claimed that the Muslim youth allegedly got agitated after he told them to not use abusive language against the Prime Minister.
According to a Jansatta report, Shiv Kumar has alleged that 2 men abducted him the next morning and gave him electric shocks while he pleaded them to let him go. He further asserted that the youth cut his finger off, Jansatta reported. A video released by News 18 Hindi shows a man being tied up and given electric shocks while the people in the background laugh on. In the video, you can hear the man crying in pain and begging the people to let him go but the people continue to torture him.
“The incident took place on July 12 or 13 when I was in a vegetable market and two men named, Ayub and Yusuf were abusing Modi and Yogi. The two men said that it is Modi and Yogi’s raj and BJP had also shut down slaughterhouses. I protested and asked them why were they using abusive language. Following which they threatened to teach me a lesson,” he said in the video.
“The next morning at around 4, few men abducted me from my house on gun point, put me in a vehicle and took me to a stable near Ayub and Yusuf’s house. They beat me up, gave me electric shocks and cut my finger,” he claimed.
The men allegedly dumped him outside his house after Shiv Kumar passed out of pain. The victim is currently in the hospital undergoing treatment. Shiv Kumar has also reportedly filed a police complaint following the attack.
