Lavish 3 BHK flats to replace 60-year-old bungalows for MPs in Delhi

These new flats will be having three floors which are one more than the existing houses given to the MPs

Soon the Members of Parliament will be leaving their 60-year-old bungalows and moving to brand new low-rise apartments in the Lutyens zone in Delhi. This process will commence with the phased demolition of 428 existing MP flatswhich are included in the prime piece of real estate.

According to the media reports, the demolition process of old flats situated in the North and South Avenues will start soon under the Central Public Works Department. The new houses will be three-bedroom flats and will be available with a modular kitchen, granite flooring, and central air-conditioning. There will be a basement parking, and a servant room as well. The resident MPs of these flats will have a clear view of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The media reports have also stated that these project has been in work since 2010 and the plan of construction has received all the clearances. Urban Development Rajiv Gauba said,”We need clearance for the present design hence wee need a proper clearance. We have received all clearances now and the plans should roll out soon.”

Also, the final clearance has been received by the Delhi Urban Arts Commission and the process will commence from the North Avenue.

These new flats will be having three floors which are one more than the existing houses given to the MPS. The total cost of this project is about Rs 600 crore. The demolition process will start in a phased manner and the redevelopment work is expected to completed within a period of 8-10 years.
