As Kerala battles the worst-ever floods in over a century, people from all corners of the country are putting in an effort to help the victims. And now the UK-based NGO Khalsa Aid International has also joined.
The group’s volunteers from their Indian wing have reached Kochi, Kerala. Collaborating with Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Kochi, they have set up a community kitchen and are cooking meals to feed those stranded in the rains. Currently, they are feeding three meals daily to more than 2000 people.

Not only is Khalsa Aid helping the victims, but also various Indian states have announced relief packages for the flood-hit state. NGOs, celebrities and various citizen-help groups have joined the cause with donations and supply of relief materials.

Actor Siddharth has tried to turn the obsession of viral challenges into a good cause by starting the #KeralaDonationChallenge. He has donated a sum of Rs 10 lakh towards the cause and has put up a picture of a receipt with a letter, pleading support from people.
Kerala has received financial aid from various state governments across the country. Andhra Pradesh has promised the help of Rs 5 crore, while Delhi government Rs 10 crore, Karnataka Rs 10 crore, Odisha Rs 5 crore, Punjab Rs 10 crore and Tamil Nadu Rs 10 crore.
Around 357 people have reportedly lost their lives since May 29.
