Karnataka: Muslim girl gets education loan. Thanks to PM Modi!

Sara wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking education loan so that she could complete her studies

A Muslim girl’s call for financial assistance to pursue higher education got prompt response from Prime Minister’s office. BB Sara, an MBA student from Karnataka wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking education loan so that she could complete her studies. She got a response from PMO within 10 days of her request.

Sara, a resident of Sugar Town in Mandya, had approached Central Bank of India for an education loan to continue her studies from PES college. However, her repeated request to the bank authorities had fallen on deaf ears. Tired of Bank’s lackadaisical attitude, Sara along with her father Abdul Ilyas wrote to the prime minister. Sara’s father had not received salary from last eight months. After PMO’s acknowledgment letter, the girl was given a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh by Vijaya bank.

Vijaya Bank manager Kshama Kumar told reporters that Sara’s father came to the bank with PMO’s letter. We checked the their background and found she is eligible for education loan, hence we approved the loan.

“In a country of millions, the prime minister responded to a single letter that I wrote. I would like to meet him in person and thank him,” Sara said after receiving the loan. Sara said in her letter, she had urged the prime minister that if he would help him like his Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme, she would be able to complete her studies.
