J&K govt bans use of loud speakers, firecrackers at functions, no more sending sweets with invitation cards

The government has barred people from using firecrackers and loud speakers at any function be it a event organised by govt or a private one.

In an unanticipated move, the Jammu and Kashmir government led by Mehbooba Mufti has banned the use of loud speakers and firecrackers in any functions including the events held by the government or private individuals in the state. Apart from this the government has also barred people from sending dry fruits or sweets with invitation cards.

The rule will be applicable from April 1. Consumer Affairs Minister Choudhary Zulfikar Ali said that restrictions imposed on injudicious use of essential commodities in Social, Government and private functions. The government has also restricted the number of guests that come on a wedding ceremony of daughter and son to 500 & 400 respectively and to 100 for small functions like engagement.
