Jan Akrosh Diwas: BJP terms protests by the opposition as “flop show”

While opposition leaders took to streets to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, BJP on Monday termed the protests and strikes called by the opposition as a flop show.

“People have rejected those who support black money and corruption and appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against black money and corruption. The leaders behind the calls for ‘Bharat Bandh’ and ‘Jan Aakrosh Diwas’ are tainted and have been rejected by people,” PTI quoted BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma as saying.

“Any call given by such leaders was bound to flop. BJP expresses its thanks to people for rejecting these parties,” he added.

Sharma also lashed out at Congress President Sonia Gandhi and the vice president Rahu Gandhi alleging that they were involved in the National Herald case and out on bail. He further alleged that the Saradha scam had tainted TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, he said his party’s MLAs are accused of various crimes and added it appears that the black money he had kept has gone waste with the Prime Minister scrappig Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.

Meanwhile, Congress continued to attack BJP saying that it lives in its own world. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee even went on to say that she will see to it that PM Modi, who was apparently “acting like god” was removed from the Indian politics.

Additionally, the central government announced that it will now form a sub committee of Chief Ministers to address the problems arising from demonetisation.
