India test-fires Agni-5, its longest range nuclear capable missile

Agni-5 is a surface to surface missile and has a high range of 5000 km.

India is has successfully tested its aboriginal Agni 5 missile from the wheeler island off Odisha coast on December 26 .

This was the fourth and final test of Agni 5. Prior to this the missile had been tested thrice. The very first test launch was made on April 19, 2012 from the Launch Complex 4 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Wheeler Island off Odisha coast using a rail mobile launcher. After the first succeesful test launch the second one was done on September 15, 2013 and the third one on January 31, 2015.

Agni 5 is an intercontinental ballistic missile which is developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India

The missile which reportedly is the upgraded version of Agni III has high accuracy guidance system and can reach the northern parts of China.

Agni 5 is a surface to surface missile and has a high range of 5000 km. It also is a high capacity missile which can carry a 1 ton nuclear load.
