IAS officer found dead near railway track in Ghaziabad, suicide note recovered

Officials of the government railway police (GRP) started an initial investigation and the body of 2012 batch IAS officer was identified with the help of his identification cards

Mukesh Pandey, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who was posted as the District Magistrate in Buxar (Bihar) allegedly committed suicide, his body was found near a railway track in Ghaziabad on Thursday night. The investigation team also found a suicide note from him.

According to HN Singh, the suicide note read, “I am committing suicide in district centre area of Janakpuri in west Delhi…by jumping off the 10th floor of the building. I am fed up with life and my belief in human existence has gone, my suicide note is kept in a Nike bag in room 742 of a five-star hotel in Delhi. I am sorry, I love you all! Please forgive me”.

Officials of the government railway police (GRP) started an initial investigation and the body of 2012 batch IAS officer was identified with the help of his identification cards. It was GRP officers who found a suicide note from him, which was written in English. Later it was given to the administrative officers.

A GRP official said that from the initial investigation, it is found that the officer laid down on tracks before the train ran over him. Ghaziabad’s DM Ministhy S who reached the site of the incident said that apart from a suicide note, a notebook was also found from him.

“Before his body was found on the railway tracks in Ghaziabad, he had called up a known person from Leela Palace Hotel in Delhi. This call was made to let the other person know that he was committing suicide. Later, his body was found on tracks in Ghaziabad”, the DM said.
