Here’s why Modi’s Cabinet Minister got an earful from LK Advani

The members of the house have protesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation since the winter session began.

With the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha being adjourned every other day after uproar by the members of the house over the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation drive, senior BJP leader lashed out the speaker and the Modi government.

Advani said that he was extremely disappointed with the way Lok Sabha proceedings were being disrupted due to protests. He further said that neither the Speaker nor the Parliamentary Affairs Minister was running the House.

Neither you (Ananth Kumar) nor the speaker is being able to run the house. I am going to tell the Speaker that she is not running the House. I am going to say it publicly. Both sides are a party to this ” Advani said.

In fact, when the speaker said that the house was adjourned till 2pm, Advani responded saying, “Why not sine die?”

Advani’s comments came as the opposition leaders came on to the side of Treasury benches and started raising slogans.

Parliament is being stalled for the consecutive days due to uproar by the opposition partied who are demanding a debate on demonetisation and PM Modi’s presence in the parliament. However, protests continued even after the Prime Minister was present in parliament. BJP leaders have also said that they were also ready to have a discussion over demonetisation.
