There’s no dearth of inspirational stories around us. Sometimes our problems and stress overpowers us and we get bogged down by them. However, stories like these can motivate us to fight the daily stress and do something useful in life.

It’s a proud moment for Naxal-hit Dantewada, as a tribal student of Dantewada’s Kirandul village has bagged a seat in the country’s prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), by securing first rank in the mains examination of IIT preparatory course.

Vaman Mandavi studied from a government school in his village and secured 72 per cent in High school and 76 per cent in Intermediate. Vaman’s mother Mangli Mandavi said that she was very happy with the achievement of her child. However, Vaman gave the entire credit of his success to his mother. His mother, Mangali Mandavi is a wood-seller in Kirandul who struggled all her life to make ends meet.

She became the sole breadwinner of the family after the death of her husband who had expired just ten months after the birth of Vaman. But, she ensured that her child studies well for a better future.

“When my husband passed away, I raised my child by selling wood. It was my dream to make my child a big man by making him study. We belong to the tribal society where the children are asked to graze cow, gather produce, which affects their studies. But I sent Vaman to school to educate him,” she reportedly told ANI.
