Govt allowing lynch mobs to rule, right thinking Indians must condemn: Rahul Gandhi on Alwar incident

Rahul Gandhi slammed the PM Narendra Modi led government and said that the centre was allowing lynch mobs to rule and are escaping responsibility

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on April 6 came forward to condemn the attack on Pehlu Khan, a man who was killed after he was assaulted by vigilantes over suspicion of cow smuggling in Alwar city of Rajasthan. Rahul Gandhi slammed the central government and claimed that it was the government who was allowing the lynch mobs to rule.

He further said that the law and order was a major problem in Alwar and that the government is expected to take strict action against the incident. The Congress Vice President also affirmed every right thinking Indian should come forth and condemn the brutality that took place in Alwar.

4 people were arrested after they brtullay thrashed deceased 35-year-old Pehlu Khan for allegedly carrying cows in the trucks. Recently, Khan along with at least 15 others was assaulted by ‘gaurakshaks’ on the Alwar highway. They were transporting cows in six vehicles. While others surffered grave injuries, Pehlu Khan succumbed to his injuries.

The police have registered a murder case agianst the six suspects and have also announced a cash reward of Rs 5000 for people who could provide any information on the identified but missing suspects. Earlier today, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi affirmed that this was the first time that such an incident had taken place and asked the Home Ministry to submit a detailed report.
