Taking law once again in their hand, a cow vigilante group thrashed two men in Jewar area of Greater Noida on the suspicion of selling cows to the slaughterhouses. In the attack, two of them got severely injured and were rushed to the nearby hospital.

According to a report in The Indian Express, the incident took place when two men, Bhoop Singh (45) and Jabar Singh (35) were returning to Jewar from Mehndipur village after buying a cow and a calf. They decided to take some rest and sat under a tree, it is when a group of gau rakshak attacked them.

A senior police officer said, “The two had been walking for a long time and had stopped under a tree to take some rest. That’s when alleged gau rakshaks spotted them. Eventually, a group of eight-nine men assaulted them”.

“The assault stopped only when they managed to convince attackers that they worked in the dairy industry and that they were returning to their village”, he added.

Two of them were taken to the nearby hospital in Greater Noida where the doctors referred them to Noida. They suffered fractures but are now out of danger. A FIR has been registered against five unknown people and police has launched a manhunt to nab them.
