From booking air tickets to ordering food, the new Rail SAARTHI app can do everything!

Rail SAARTHI is an integrated app, which will provide users with a single window interface.

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu recently launched an app called Rail SAARTHI (Synergised Advanced Application Rail Travel Help and Information). Although, there were many apps launched by railways in the past, this one is different and special for the users.

According to a report in the Better India, SAARTHI is an integrated app, which will provide users with a single window interface. Previously, to avail of the various services, users were required to download multiple apps, with the introduction of this app, users will now have only one app to manage.

The app covers features such as safety for women, complaint facility and suggestion for improvement, he said. This will also allow a user to book air tickets and give feedback.

With the introduction of this app, the minister also announced a quota facility for differently abled people in 3AC coach and extended the advance booking period for foreigners to 365 days from the present 120 days.

As per the decision, now a lower berth in a third AC coach will be reserved for physically challenged people and the middle for the individual accompanying them.

“Presently we have different digital solutions for ticketing, grievance redressal and other issues. We intend to integrate all such facilities into two mobile apps, one dealing with all ticketing issues and the other for receipt and redressal of complaints and suggestions related to all our services,” said Prabhu, according to the Better India report.
