In a shocking incident, Kolkata Police recently found a decomposed body of an actress working in Bengali films in the Kasba area of Kolkata. The police recovered her body from her residence in Kolkata.
The actress has been identified as Bitasta Saha. According to reports, the police found her hanging from the ceiling of her flat when they broke into her apartment. Reports suggest that Bitasta who used to live alone in her apartment had not responded to calls from her family and friends for over two days. Her mother visited her flat after not receiving a response from her daughter.
She informed the neighbour after the deceased did not answer the knocks on her door. Bitasta’sneighbour and mother finally informed the police after failing to enter the flat. The police broke into her apartment and found her hanging on the ceiling of her house.
Bitasta’s wrist was slit and the police also found several injury marks on her body. It is being alleged that Bitasta committed suicide. “Going by the preliminary signs it seems that she committed suicide. However, we are waiting for the postmortem report. The body appeared to be two-day-old and there was a bit of stench in the room,” the police said. The police further claimed that Bitasta was under a lot of stress for the last few days and clould have decided to take this extreme step because of this.
“We have gone through her Facebook profile and posts, and found quite depressing posts on her wall. In fact, at one point she had also talked about putting an end to her life. We are checking everything including her call details,” the police told PTI.
