CBSE topper 2017 Raksha Gopal can’t believe her success. Here’s her ‘unbelievable’ marksheet

CBSE topper 2017 Raksha Gopal marksheet is out, she has scored 99.6% in the class 12th exam. She is a student of Amity International School in Noida

The wait for CBSE Class 12th results is finally over as the board has announced its result on May 28. Soon after the declaration of CBSE class 12th results, Raksha Gopal from Amity International School in Noida has emerged as the topper. CBSE topper 2017 Raksha Gopal marksheet is out and she has scored 99.6% in the CBSE exam. The second position is secured by Chandigarh’s Bhumi Sawant De who is from DAV Public School by securing 99.4%. There’s a tie on the third rank as Aditya Jain from Bhawan Vidyalaya and Mannat Luthra both have scored 99.2%.

On achieving this feat, CBSE 2017 topper Raksha Gopal who is a Humanities student said, “The feeling is yet to sink in. I knew I would do well, but never thought I would top. This shatters the myth that students from Humanities cannot score.” Raksha added that she wished to pursue Political Science (Hons) next.” She said, “I still can’t believe the result, my aim was to do well didn’t expect to top”.

In English, Political Science and Economics, Raksha Gopal has scored 100 marks and 99 marks each in Psychology, History.

Talking about her future plans, Raksha said she wants to study Political Science and has applied in some universities including Delhi University. She said, “I have applied to Delhi University and a few other universities, but my plan is to get admission into the Delhi University and pursue Political Science (Honours)”.

The overall pass percentage this year is 82% which is lower than 2016, the pass last year was 83.05%, however, there has been an increase in the number of students this year who scored between 95% and 100%.

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar after the announcement of results said “I want to congratulate all the students who scored well. I also want to say that those who did not do well should try again, they will also succeed”.
