An anonymous group called ‘Zero Cool’ on Tuesday hacked the website of All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) and posted anti-India messages. A provocative message against India’s backing former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav was also posted on the site. Jadhav has been booked for espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan by their military court.
While he was awarded death sentence by a Pakistani court a few weeks back, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has put his hanging on hold. The decision by the international court was taken after India had sought a stay on Jadhav’s death sentence and accused Pakistan of “egregious violations of the Vienna Convention”.
The website which is used to give out information on football activities has been blocked. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted “I have spoken to the mother of Kulbhushan Jadhav and told her about the order of President, ICJ under Art 74 paragraph 4 of Rules of Court”. Few days back, Jadhav’s mother had applied for Pakistani visa so as to visit the country and appeal against the death sentence pronounced on him. However, no reply has come from Islamabad yet.

Earlier, India strongly condemned the death sentence awarded to Jadhav and said consular officials were denied access to Jadhav during his trial. After Pakistan announced the death sentence to the Indian national, Pakistan High Commission was summoned. Foreign Secretary had said, “If this sentence against Kulbhushan Jadhav is carried out, the Government and people of India will take it as a case of premeditated murder”.
