Kapil expresses anguish over corruption to Modi

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to Kapil's outburst.

Comedian Kapil Sharma was not being the usual funny guy that we are familiar with when he took to Twitter to express a serious issue that has plagued the country for years.

An angry Kapil expressed that despite paying 15 crores in the form of income tax in the last five years, he was asked to pay a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to get his office made.

I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi

He followed up with another tweet asking the Prime Minister that “are these the good days that you promised?”

Earlier this year, Kapil had expressed his wish to have Narendra Modi as a guest on his show.
“I wish to have Mr Narendra Modi on our new show (‘The Kapil Sharma show’). I was watching television recently and saw Mr Barack Obama on Ellen’s show (on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’) and it is great. We should also have politicians connecting to people,” he said in a previous interview.
