Why Kamal haasan’s tweet has not gone down too well with Jayalalithaa’s fans?

Is it because his film Vishwaroopam was banned in Tamil Nadu?

While heartfelt condolences poured in for late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa from several quarters after she passed away last night in Chennai at the age of 68, actor Kamal Haasan put out a rather abrupt tweet for the AIADMK Chief.

“Deep sympathy for those who depend on Jayalalithaa,” he said in a Twitter post.

Kamal Hasaan and Jaylalithaa’s animosity dates back to the time when his film Vishwaroopam was banned in the state of Tamil Nadu.

During an interview with a daily, Kamal Haasan had even said that he would burn Tamil version of film Vishwaroop in front of Jayalalitha’s office. With Muslim organisations alleging that their community had been portrayed in a bad light, the Tamil Nadu government went on to ban the film in the state. The government had banned it even after the censor board cleared the film. Kamal Haasan had claimed that he was being unfairly targetted by the state government.

Kamal Haasan tweet after Jayalalithaa’s death has not gone down too well with her followers. Some of them lashed out at him on Twitter soon after he posted the tweet.

Meanwhile, Superstar Rajnikanth on Tuesday paid his last respects to late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa along with his family members. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reached Chennai to pay tribute to Jayalalithaa.
