The much loved comedy show, Hum Paanch is returning back and we are already aware about it. What we don’t know though is that it’s returning on Big Magic channel. The TV show, produced by Essel Vision Pvt Ltd, featured Vidya Balan, Vaibhavi Raichura, Shoma Anand, Ashok Saraf, Rakhee Tandon and Vandana Pathak among others.

The latest update as confirmed by the programming head of the channel, Shrabani Deodhar, has it that the modified version of Hum Paanch will go on air from May end. As told to leading daily, the show will also see a complete new cast (so there’s no Vidya Balan). Here’s what Shrabani said in her statement:

As part of our portfolio in the comedy space, we are bringing back the hit comedy show of 90s as Hum Paanch Phir Se. Keeping the intrinsic elements of the popular show intact, the sequel is a modern take on the popular sitcom Hum Paanch. The viewers of the channel will be in for a comical ride daily with this new show.

Hum Paanch is one of the immensely popularly Indian telly shows ever. The show was first aired in 1995, became a hit and returned back in 2005. It features the story of family with 5 daughters and their day to day fun antics. The show also got into the limelight because of featuring  Vidya Balan in a rather interesting avatar. Vidya, played one of the daughters named Radhika, a girl who’s too much into studies and always has a scientific logic behind everything.

While the news of Hum Paanch returning is surely exciting, the fact that the cast and crew is not the same is little disappointing.
