Audio launch of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 to be held in Dubai during Diwali

The post production works of Shankar’s upcoming film 2.0 is currently underway in the US. Though the makers, Lyca Productions initially planned to release the film on Diwali, later postponed to January 25, 2018, citing delay in VFX works of the film. However, the latest update arriving from the Kollywood circle is that the audio launch of 2.0 is slated to be held in Dubai on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.

Raju Mahalingam, the Content Head at Lyca was talking to Tamil trade Analyst Sreedhar Pillai on Sunday, June 18 when he said:

“The 2.0 shoot is over. Now we are doing special effects and VFX in state-of-the-art studios in the US and other places. The film will also be in 3D and will have a grand audio launch in Dubai sometime in October and that’s why we had earlier (made a mention) about a ‘3D Diwali’. Already, we have worked out an association with AA Films for the Hindi distribution in Northern India. In the south, we will be distributing it ourselves, through our network of trusted distributors.”

2.0 stars legendary Tamil actor Rajinikanth in dual roles as Scientist Vaseegaran and Chitti: The Robot. The film also marks the Tamil debut of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. The Bollywood Khiladi will be seen portraying the main antagonist role of Dr Richard. 2.0 also stars Madarasippatanam fame Amy Jackson in the female lead and also stars Adil Hussain, Malayalam actors Kalabhavan Shajon and Riyaz Khan.

Similar to SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali series, 2.0 is scheduled to be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
