Kerala Box Office: Prithviraj’s Ezra emerged as the 2nd highest opener after Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan

Ezra beats the 1st week Box Office collection of Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Oppam and Kabali. It was released in 50 screens less than Singam 3

Last Friday saw the release of Prithviraj starrer Ezra. An horror thriller, the film has been jointly produced by AV Anoop, Mukesh R Mehta and CV Sarathy under their respective home banners AVA Productions and E4 Entertainment. Written and directed by Jay K, Ezra also marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil actress Priya Anand.

After registering a huge opening weekend at the Kerala Box Office, the Prithviraj starrer was unstoppable on the weekdays as well. The horror thriller, which had released in 130 screens across the Kerala had grossed a terrific Rs 8.55 crore on its opening weekend to become the fourth film with highest opening week at the Kerala Box Office after Pulimurugan, Kabali, and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol.

Ezra has now emerged as the second film with all-time second highest opening week collections at the Kerala Box Office. The film had collected a Rs 6.45 crore in four days at the Kerala Box Office. By the end of its opening week, Ezra had minted Rs 15 crore to become the second film with highest opening week collections after Mohanlal’s Pulimurgan. The film also overpowered the opening week collections of Mohanlal’s Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Oppam and Rajinikanth’s Kabali. The opening week collections of Ezra are remarkable considering that the film was released in 50 screens less than Singam 3.

Ezra also features Tovino Thomas, Sudev Nair, Vijayaraghavan, Alencier Lopez and Ann Sheetal in other pivotal roles. With such a terrific opening week and positive reviews, Ezra is all set to dominate the second weekend too at the Kerala Box Office.
