SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 fails to break opening day Box Office record of this SRK film

With such amazing figures, Baahubali 2 has not only become the fastest grossing India film ever but has also set the benchmark high for other films as well

S.S.Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion is on a record breaking spree. The film is ruling the box office like a boss and has not only broken all the previous records but has created many new ones. the theaters are houseful and the audience is going crazy to watch the high action drama Baahubali 2.

The Hindi version of the film has already crossed Rs 150 crore in just four days of its release and it has done an overall business of Rs 540 crore so far. With such amazing figures, Baahubali 2 has not only become the fastest grossing India film ever but has also set the benchmark high for other films as well.

With its first day collection, Baahubali 2 left behind Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Salman Khan’s Sultan, which earned Rs 29.78 crore and Rs 36.54 crore respectively. But the Prabhas starrer failed to surpass the opening day collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year. Yes, that is true.

SRK’s HNY minted Rs 45 crore on the first day of its release while Baahubali 2 opened with a collection of Rs 41 crore. Clearly, Prabhas was not able to beat King Khan in the box office game. Baahubali 2 is not only doing a great business domestically but is also roaring at the international market.

Released in over 1100 screens in the US, the film made it to 40 IMAX screens, the highest ever for an Indian film. If the social media buzz and unconfirmed reports are anything to go by, even before its theatrical release, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion had reportedly earned close to Rs 500 crore from television rights and territory-wise distribution within the country.

The film, featuring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah in the lead, released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam in over 6500 screens across India, and in 9000 plus screens worldwide.
