Slap Sanjay Leela Bhansali with shoe and get Rs 10000 reward, announces BJP leader

Sanjay Leela Bhansali who was assaulted on the sets of Padmavati in Jaipur got support from many members of the film fraternity

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, may have got support from Bollywood after he was assaulted on the sets of his upcoming Padmavati but seems he is still a target for many outfits. Last week, the Rajput Karni Sena created a ruckus on the film sets claiming that SLB was distorting historic facts in the movie. While the flak around this incident has still not faded, a member of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has said that he would give Rs 10,000 to anyone who would slap SLB with a shoe, said media reports.

Akhilesh Khandelwal, the chairman of Madhya Pradesh’s Hosangabad municipal corporation said that filmmakers like SLB are playing with history. Speaking to journalists later, Akhilesh said he didn’t regret it.

They (such film personalities) are trying to distort our history to show us in poor light in public. We can no more remain silent. We consider it our responsibility to rein in such forces

This  statement from a BJP leader contradicts the views of senior leader Venkiah Naidu, who has in a tweet condemned the action on SLB. Maybe, the MP leader will have some explaining to do.

Latest development in the Karni Sena incident has it that the makers of Padmavati and the group exchanged letters to clear out the misunderstanding.

The attack on SLB was condemned by many in the film fraternity. The star cast of the film- Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, came out in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Shahid in a tweet said that his only regret was that he couldn’t be by SLB’s side when this happened.
