Chef Box Office Prediction: Despite a shakey start, the Saif Ali Khan film is carrying positive reports

Chef takes a poor start at the Box Office

A section of the audience might have loved Saif’s acting and Menon’s direction, but things are not too bright for the Saif Ali Khan entertainer. While the occupancy in the morning show was as low as 10 – 12 %, the biz is expected to grow as the day progresses and help the film collect around Rs 1.50 crore to 2 crore on its opening day. Since the Raja Krishna Menon directorial opened to positive reviews, it is likely that the biz might escalate over the weekend.

When the trailer was launched, it was quite clear that the film was strictly for the multiplex audience in tier 1 cities. The film released on approximately 1570 screens in India, majorly targetted towards the city multiplexes as there would be no takers for a film like Chef in the small towns.

The film which is a remake of Jon Favreau’s film has been adapted keeping the Indian sensibilities in mind. Saif Ali Khan’s role of a middle-aged man, who is trying to discover himself on a trip to India has been appreciated.  The budget of the film is on the lower side and a positive word of mouth should help the film as there is no competition till Diwali.
