Amitabh Bachchan and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor-starrer 102 Not Out, helmed by Umesh Shukla, will release on December 1 and will be clashing with Vidya Balan-starrer Tumhari Sulu at the Box Office.
The 102 Not Out features Amitabh as a 102-year-old and Rishi as his 75-year-old son. The makers aim to wrap up the shoot by July, read a statement.
The film is based on writer-director Saumya Joshi’s successful Gujarati play by the same name. The film is a sweet story between a father and a son and the duo will also speak a few lines in Gujarati in the film!
Amitabh and Rishi, who will be seen sharing screen space after two decades, have previously worked in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb and Kabhi Kabhie.
While in Tumhari Sulu, Vidya will be seen in a fun role as a night radio jockey, being produced bT-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment. Actor Manav Kaul will play the on-screen husband of Vidya Balan in a slice-of-life comedy film.
She will also be taking dance lessons for the film, in which music plays a vital role.
The film will also see RJ Malishka making her Bollywood debut as a radio jockey. Malishka said, I’ve always wanted to act and God knows that I lose no opportunity to be one in front of the people that know me or on stage. But to be able to do a film with an actor of such substance is a privilege. I cannot wait to rock and roll.”
Vidya was even trained by Malishka for her role in Rajkumar Hirani’s Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
The Begum Jaan actor will also dance to Sridevis chartbuster Hawa Hawai from the 1987 blockbuster Mr. India in the forthcoming film.
The iconic number is being recreated by Tanishk Bagchi, known for giving a contemporary touch to 1990s hit songs like Humma Humma and Tamma Tamma.
The makers felt that instead of getting the track re-sung by a new voice, it would be wise to retain Kavita Krishnamurthy’s voice, as the track was synonymous with her unique vocals.
