Uttar Pradesh Elections 2017: Development of India depends on development of UP, says PM Narendra Modi in Hardoi

Citing the polling turnout in the first two phases, PM Narendra Modi thanked the people of the state for supporting the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

After the polling of first two phases in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Hardoi to address a rally to woo the electorate ahead of phase three of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Once again, a huge crowd was present at the rally who chanted PM’s name to welcome him. Even PM Modi himself mentioned in his speech that this ground has fallen short for the people who came here. He said, “I could see a saffron sea in front of me.”

Citing the polling turnout in the first two phases, he thanked people of the state for supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but soon, turned his cards once again against the ruling Samajwadi Party in the state and asserted that development cannot be spread across the state until parties like SP, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress are eradicated from the state.

Stressing again on the situation of law and order in the state and the issue of women safety, PM Modi stated that Uttar Pradesh is the only state where women cannot go out of their homes after the sun sets. He also accused that the police stations have been converted into SP offices and the policemen take permission from SP leaders to file any complaint. He said, “Most numbers of murders across the nation occur in UP. Nobody raises his/her voice against the illegal mining carried in the state, as they fear to lose their lives.”

He further blamed the SP government for not taking any strong step for the protection of backward classes in the state. He said, “The state holds the responsibility to protect the backward classes but cases of persecution of lower classes were 20 per cent alone from UP.”

Speaking about the benefit of the farmers, PM Modi assured that if BJP comes to power, the first decision that the state cabinet will take is to waive off farmer loans.

“After Chaudhary Sharan Singh, BJP is the only government who cares for the betterment of the farmers,” added PM Modi.

He also lashed Akhilesh government for failing to supply electricity throughout the state. He said, “The Centre has sent him funds from Delhi but he failed to supply electricity to across the state.” Once again, he repeated his accusations on Congress, blaming them for looting the nation for over 70 years and asked the people for a chance to serve the state.

For the upliftment of youth and taking the development in the state to another level, PM Modi pronounced that the party manifesto has promised to generate employment and shape the future of youth. “Development of India depends on the development of Uttar Pradesh. Agar Uttar Pradesh, Bihar se gareebi gayi to maan lijiye Hindustan se gareebi gayi (If poverty vanishes from UP and Bihar, then it is washed off from entire nation.)”
