Kapil Sibal tries to give a poetic spin to Congress-SP alliance but his tweet boomerangs

Kapil Sibal seemed to be in his poetic mood after the SP and the Congress announced its alliance for the UP polls

These days, social media has become a major player when it comes to political battles. The high-pitched elections for Uttar Pradesh too are not being fought on the ground but on Twitter and Facebook too. After announcing an alliance with the Samajwadi Party, the Congress is looking a lot more confident. Several Congress leaders came out social media revealing that the tie-up has given a much-needed fillip to the grand old party.

Veteran Congress leader Kapil Sibal too seemed to be in a poetic mood after the alliance. “The Bicycle will speed away, as the Hand keeps it steady. No Lotus will bloom as the Elephant steps on it,” he tweeted on Monday.

Sheer poetry. pic.twitter.com/jZ6PXkLQHa

While he is being lauded for the witty tweet, he is also being trolled for a typing error that he made. He wrote: “1917: a year of cheer and hope”. What he wanted to write was 2017 but alas! he made a typo.

@KapilSibal always genius with numbers. Kudos!!

@KapilSibal @nixxin yes Mr. Sibal. You are 100% right if we talk abt 1917. Needless to say, correction will not be acceptable. Njoy.

Social media is being taken very seriously for the polls. In fact, the decision that Priyanka was holding talks with UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was made on Twitter by party leader Ahmad Patel. On Sunday, he had tweeted: “Wrong to suggest lightweights were dealing on behalf of Congress party. The discussion was at the highest level- b/w CM (UP),GS I/C & Priyanka Gandhi.”
