To Enter This Temple In Bandipur Reserve, You Need To Have Aadhaar

Pilgrims need to have a photocopy of their Aadhar cards in order to worship

People living in Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Karnataka will now have to furnish their Aadhar cards in order to pray at a temple. According to forest officials, pilgrims need to have a photocopy of their Aadhar cards in order to worship the idols at the temple in Huliamma Betta.

Bandipur Tiger Reserve director T Balachandra told TOI,

“We will accompany them to the temple. We will take the village elders along. The villagers will be supervised by the foresters.”

The decision was reportedly taken to ‘ensure safety’ of locals travelling through the forest. It comes after a tiger attacked a local who was passing through the forest on September 1 prompting entry restrictions for villagers.
