What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word– Amazon? Deals and discounts? Gizmos and weird gadgets? Clothes and accessories? But do you know that Amazon, which is one of the biggest e-retailers in the world, has an army of cute and cuddly dogs that will melt your hearts away (no, we’re not kidding!). These bundles of joys are ‘officially working’ at Amazon and have a dedicated page on Amazon.com under ‘Working at Amazon’ tab. From the ever happy Golden Retriever to naughty Welsh Corgi, from the innocent Cavapoo to the stylish Labradors, the gang at Amazon is overloaded with adorability.
As you must have guessed, employing dogs in e-retail shops is not common and in a country like ours completely unknown. And like every unusual story, Amazon too has a tale to tell.
“It all started with a Corgi named Rufus, the first dog to ‘work’ at Amazon. He was such a big part of Amazon that a whole building is now named after him,” states the Amazon page that is dedicated to its pets.
The company loves its pets so much that it invited all its employees to bring in their ‘four-legged friends’ to work (yeah, we love it too). And if you believe that it couldn’t get better than this, then there’s more. The company also offers dog biscuits at the reception desk and the company has even designed a special ‘doggy drinking fountain’ for these little monsters.
What’s even more interesting is the page that gives the full bio of these adorable creatures. This includes their name, breed, age, their favourite toys and their interests. While Duke is a four-year-old Shih Tzu who loves wearing a bow tie (elegant), Martini is a three-year-old Papillon who loves to snuggle under the blankets (aww). And then there is the four-year-old playboy Shih Tzu Poodle Soju who just loves girls. Don’t believe us? Check out yourself!
