China: At least 10 dead, 14 injured in hotel fire in Nanchang, several feared trapped

A major fire broke at a luxury hotel in Nanchang, China of February 25. Reportedly, ten people have been killed and 14 are severely injured. While several others are feared trapped inside the hotel. According to the reports published by Chinese media, the fire was spotted on the second floor of the HNA Platinum Mix Hotel.

In the latest update, 10 fire tender were rushed at the fire scene and extinguished the fire. The rescue officials are searching for people trapped in the building.

According to news agency Xinhua seven people had been detained by police while investigations continued.

The four-storey hotel is connected to a 24-storey apartment building where people are also trapped.

In several pictures released by the Chinese media released several pictures of the fire engulfed hotel which showed billows of thick smoke seen coming out of the building.

A woman who was rescued from the building told, around 10 construction workers were engaged in decorating work on the second floor when the fire broke out.

A man who jumped from the second floor to escape the fire suffered severely injured. He was rushed to the hospital.
