Here's how Arvind Kejriwal reacted to MCD election loss

Winning by a huge margin in all the three municipal bodies, BJP is set for the third consecutive term in MCD

After the results of the Municipal corporation of Delhi (MCD) came out on Wednesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to twitter to congratulate Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for registering its win in all the three municipal corporations in Delhi.

“I congratulate BJP on their victory in all the three MCDs. My govt looks forward to working with MCDs for the betterment of Delhi”, wrote Kejriwal on his official twitter account.

In the recently concluded MCD election, BJP continued its winning streak, as per the initial polls BJP has won 160 seats, crossing its existing strength of 138 in all three municipal corporations in Delhi, reported PTI. This will be party’s third consecutive term in MCD.

This is a second major setback for AAP in the last two months.Earlier it was party’s defeat in Punjab and now in the MCD polls.  After the results of assembly elections, Arvid Kejriwal had questioned the credibility of Election commission and also alleged tampering of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).

On the day of MCD voting, Kejriwal had said, “There are reports from all over Delhi of EVM malfunction, people with voter slips not allowed to vote. What is State Election Commission doing?”

Blaming EVM tampering for the loss, deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “After losing 2009 elections, BJP for five years did research on EVM tampering and it is because of that that today the party has won these elections”.

Meanwhile, another AAP leader Alka Lamba differed from her party members and said that in her locality EVMs were not an issue and will support those chosen by people.
