Also known as D16, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru featuring Ashwin Kkumar is one of the anticipated Tamil films of the year. It has veteran actor Rahman in lead

One of the most awaited Tamil films of the year, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru aka D16 is slated to be released on 29 December. Directed by Karthick Naren and jointly produced by Knight Nostalgia and Filmotainment productions, the film stars Malayalam veteran actor Rahman in lead role.

The film was recently in the news when Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman unveiled the trailer of D16. The trailer, which had released in August 2016 was well received by the audience and had gone viral across social media, including Facebook and Twitter.

An important factor to watch out for Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru is Ashwin Kkumar , the Malayalam actor who had stunned the audience with his antagonist role of Murali Menon in the recent Nivin Pauly’s Malayalam blockbuster, Jacobinte Swargarajyam. The film marks his Tamil debut and as per sources, his role has got a major contribution in D16‘s story. Interestingly, the actor was not shown in the trailer as the makers have decided not to reveal anything about the talented actor.

D16 is carrying terrific buzz in UAE as well, thanks to Ashwin’s popularity across Dubai. Before making his Tamil debut, Ashwin Kkumar, a Dubai resident himself created waves across social media and did a number of local performances for his mimicry videos. He has also performed a Kamal Hassan tribute in front of the acting legend himself.
