People in the United States have come up with a bizarre trend. They are burning Nike products and posting photos and videos on social media with the hashtags #BoycottNike and #JustBurnIt. But why? Because they are apparently ‘irked’ over Nike’s latest “Just Do It” ad campaign which features former NFL player Colin Kaepernick.
Kaepernick has been a vocal critic of America’s growing hate crimes police brutality and racial profiling. In 2016, at an NFL game, he kneeled during the national anthem as a means of registering his protest. Kaepernick triggered a lot of reactions and some felt that he disrespected the nation. However, many sportspersons came out in his support including Serena Williams, LeBron James, Kevin Duran and Chris Paul.
