This woman came up with the most unusual idea to remind BMC of their civic duty

Genesia Alves, a freelance journalist from Bandra, Mumbai has recreated an iconic photograph of World War II to draw BMC's attention

A freelance journalist in Mumbai’s Bandra got fed up of asking the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to clear the rubble outside her house, so she came up with a the most ingenious idea to draw the civic authorities attention. The BMC has dug road right outside her house and forgot to clear the rubble.

Genesia Alves recreated one of the most iconic photographs of World War II where a woman in the United Kingdom is sipping tea sitting on the debris left behind after the bombing by German airplanes. Genesia dressed and posed exactly like the woman in the WW II photograph and posted it on her Twitter handle after which she started receiving a lot of responses lauding the humorous way in which she dealt with the whole issue.
In an interview to a leading daily, Genesia laments how the BMC starts working on improving the roads right after Diwali each year and leaves the work midway till the monsoons hit the city.
Here’s her latest tweet which went viral:

Hey #Bandra I made a tribute to the BMC digging. #TeaDuringTheBlitz pic.twitter.com/0oCNVfDNKi

Although this is not the first time Genesia has come up with such an idea. Earlier as well, she had posted a photograph of Recce Street, Paul’s Road inviting fashion magazines to come for an ‘post apocalyptic photoshoot’.

Fashion mags. Want a post apocalyptic shoot with undead refs? Recce St Paul’s Rd. (Screaming banshee also available for mixed metaphors.) pic.twitter.com/6egTQe1Sv3
