Freedom or no freedom, that is the question. Internet has the best response to World Press Freedom Day

According to a latest report on press freedom, India is placed at 136th out of 180 countries of the world.

French philosopher and author, Albert Camus once said, ‘A free press can, of course, be good or bad, but, most certainly without freedom, the press will never be anything but bad.’ On World Press Freedom Day, the internet has come up with some really sarcastic and hard-hitting cartoons, memes and posts. At a time, when journalists are being killed for doing their job, excessive censorship is taking over creativity in the garb of protecting the morality of society, when journalists as well as whistle-blowers are being targeted for speaking out and intolerance is the key word everywhere, freedom of speech is something that we need to talk about.
According to a report about press freedom by Reporters Without Borders, out of 180 countries of the world that were surveyed, India ranks 136th  falling off three positions from the last year ratings.  India is 12 points below Indonesia which is being accused of curbs on Press freedom and threats of violence to journalists in Western Papua New Guinea region.
