Sachin’s biopic ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ to be released in 5 Indian languages

The film will portray his 24-year-long cricket career where he had represented India in 200 Tests, amassing 15,921 runs before he retired in 2013

Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar’s biographical drama “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” is set to release in five languages. The makers wanted to cater to Tendulkar’s fans across the nation and hence, wanted to release the movie in Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.

The film’s producer Ravi Bhagchandka said in a statement: “Sachin Tendulkar is a sensation that transcends language. He has clearly created an era which we as Indians can be proud of. His story is one that we want everyone to witness, without the barrier of language.”

“Sachin: A Billion Dreams” showcases a restless 10-year-old child’s journey from watching India’s first World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev lift the trophy to the fulfilment of his dream of holding it in his hands for India.

Produced by Bhagchandka of 200NotOut and Shrikant Bhasi of Carnival Motion Pictures, the James Erskine directorial is all set to release on May 26.

Earlier on April 24, which is also Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s 44th birthday, the first song of the film called ‘Hind mere jind’ was released in which Sachin was seen along with his wife Anjali Tendulkar. The song has been sung by AR Rahman and the lyrics of the song are penned by Irshad Kamil.

The film will portray his 24-year-long cricket career where he had represented India in 200 Tests, amassing 15,921 runs before calling it quits in 2013. In ODI cricket, he scored 18,426 runs in 463 matches. He also holds the record for scoring the maximum centuries in international cricket: 100. He is currently a Rajya Sabha MP.
