‘My name is Mohammad Kaif and I am not a sharpshooter’

Cricketer Mohammad Kaif is facing an identity crisis. Tweeple think he is a wanted criminal

A hilarious case of mistaken identities has come to fore. A Twitter user tagged India cricketer Mohammad Kaif and tweeted that he didn’t expect him to be a sharpshooter.

The confusion arose when his namesake, who is a wanted criminal in Bihar, recently in an interview with DNA said that he has been falsely accused of killing journalist Rajdev Ranjan. Moreover, he explained that he is a former cricketer. This statement from Kaif was enough for Twitteratis to connect cricketer Mohammad Kaif with the entire episode.

After repeated calls and tweets, Kaif eventually wrote a letter stating the least one can do is verify the content. The 35-year-old cricketer clarified that he likes shooting, but only when it is shooting the stumps with a ball. Kaif will be leading the Chattisgarh team, who are competing for the first time in Ranji Trophy.
