Former Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni seems to be breaking records at will, one after the other. MS Dhoni, who is lightening behind the stumps created a unique record in the Pune match. He became the first Indian keeper to complete 200 ODI catches on Indian soil, which is a big achievement. MS Dhoni reached the milestone in the third over of the match, when Martin Guptill edged one to him. MS Dhoni had completed 200 international catches in India. Later on in the game, MS Dhoni took another catch to dismiss Tom Latham. That made it 201!
The Indian is fourth in the list of most catches (288) – behind Adam Gilchrist (417) for Australia and ICC, Mark Boucher (402) for South Africa and Africa, Sangakkara (383) for Sri Lanka, ICC and Asia.
Sri Lankan maestro Kumar Sangakkara and England’s dependable Alec Stewart have done this in their respective countries before Dhoni. So that makes the India the third to achieve this feat in world cricket. Both the cricketers who have done this before MS Dhoni have retired from the game.
Even with the bat, MS Dhoni came in at the end and did what he does best, take India over the line and remain not out on 18 off 21 balls.
Meanwhile, the focus shifts to Kanpur where the decider will be played. It takes place on 29 October.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli-led team India beat New Zealand in the 2nd One Day International at Pune by 6 wickets to level the series 1-1. That means it sets it up beautifully for an emphatic decider at Kanpur. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah played pivotal roles with the ball and Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik it was with the bat, who steered India to a convincing win.
