Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner Shah Rukh Khan has been known for being closely attached to players and their family. King Khan has been supporting the team on and off the field whether they pull off a miracle win or lose in a close encounter. He has been backing the KKR side through the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 and the ones before that. On KKR’s 10th-anniversary gathering SRK shares the experience he has had with the team whether they were related to the management or the players attached to it.
SRK thanked the players and skipper Gautam Gambhir for sticking by the team through the years. He talked about how coach John Buchanan and Shoaib Akhtar used to contribute in the team meetings and how he could not understand a word about it. But, the funniest segment of the show was when he was asked to compare the player’s personalities to the characters he has played in various movies.
The first one was the funniest as he was asked to name the ‘Devdas’, on asked about this, SRK asked players. “Who drinks the most amongst you guys?”. After a while, he came to a conclusion that fiery opener Chris Lynn is the Devdas of KKR.
Then, he was asked to compare a player who could pull of Mohan Bhargava, SRK said, “Mohan Bhargava is a very serious guy, very honest, quiet, never ever smiles. Gautam Gambhir has to be Mohan Bhargava.” The best part was Gambhir’s expressions were still unchanged after hearing this.

Then came a heartthrob character of Rahul from Dil to Pagal Hai, SRK replied, “I thought Rahul was very good looking in Dil to Pagal Hai. So, I find Manish Pandey very good looking. He’s the Rahul of Dil to Pagal Hai.” On hearing this Manish gestured to SRK for calling him good looking.

SRK was further asked, who would better fit in for the character of Raees. SRK had a prompt answer to this, he said, “Raees to sirf Yusuf bhai ho sakte hai, there is no questioning it. I think more than Don also.”

Then came a serious one and the most recent one of his character fro Dear Zindagi. SRK said, “I think Jacques Kallis would be Dr. Jahangir Khan. I have seen him (Kallis) as a player, I have seen him as a coach. He’s quiet and has control without having to say too much. Like the way he is, his behaviour makes the whole team.”
