IPL 2017: When Delhi Daredevils top-order fell like ‘BICYCLES IN A ROW’ and twitter reacts!

Probably, these stats could a unique record in IPL histories categorised under worst top order performance

It seems that the game number of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Daredevils (DD) was destined to finish early or the Delhi Players had this in the back of their mind that they would do it anyhow. Otherwise, 24 for 6 wouldn’t have been on the scoreboard while Delhi was batting in the second innings. After winning the toss DD skipper Zaheer Khan opted to field first and the entire squad showed an outstanding batting performance and halted Mumbai at 142 and took 8 scalps.

But what the hell happened to the Delhi squad in the second innings? Was there any flight they needed to catch or they were not in a mood to play at Wankhede Stadium? There has to be some solid reason behind this downfall! By 6.3 overs, 6 batsmen from DD were back to the pavilion and the scoreboard looked so horrible.

Among all the top six batsmen, Sanju Samson was the highest scorer and he scored mere 9 runs while the rest had some important work to do apart from the game. This performance could be one of its own kind which was witnessed in Mumbai today. Probably, these stats could a unique record in IPL histories categorised under worst top order performance.

On the other hand, Mitchell McClenaghan, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah collectively did their job in a perfect way and brought back their team into the game. Meanwhile, the Twitterati didn’t leave any stone unturned to tease Delhi and their hilarious reactions will leave you in splits.

#MIvDD I think DD batsmans are feeling sleepy so they are trying to finish the game…!!! By giving wickets…!!!

#MIvDD That’s the problem of continuously endorsing youngsters. This is not U19 cricket. Get some real team made @DelhiDaredevils .
