After restricting the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at 49 runs in their previous, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir has expressed himself for the first time in the ongoing tournament. He revealed that he was not satisfied with his team’s performance in their last game at home. In a column written for the Hindustan Times, he described,”We had two KKR teams playing the last game, first one that batted in the first half, the second one was playing for its life. I have never imposed myself but the batting collapse hurt me. I thought that we were not taking enough pride. I don’t know whether TV cameras or microphones caught it but we were chirping all the time when RCB were batting.”

“I am happy to lose spots on the IPL Fairplay award list but I can not see my team slipping on the points table. For the first time in my seven years with KKR, I was fuming. The loss against Gujarat Lions was still haunting. On the back of that, we collapsed from 65 for 1 to 131 all out against RCB. It was unacceptable.”

However, despite all these, KKR were successful in bundling RCB for 49 who were chasing an easy target of 132 from 20 overs. The first blow came itself in the first over when skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck. Later, the entire batting order collapsed within 53 balls and could make 49 runs. From KKr, Nathan Coulter-Nile was the main destructor who took three wickets including Virat Kohli. With this loss, RCb not only slipped to the last position but also set a new and weird record of setting the lowest team total of all the IPL seasons.
