Earlier today it seemed that the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 season finale will be an easy one for the Rising Pune Supergiant to win as after bowling superbly, they successfully restricted Mumbai Indians (MI) at a score of 129. But the way game turned and got stretched to till the last ball of the second innings could have given a heart attack to the people with weak hearts. The way Mumbai outplayed Pune in today’s game was totally terrific and something which will always be memorable.
Pune needed 130 runs to win and the entire game looked in their favour as they bowled extremely well. The target was pretty much chasable but RPS lost the plot in between and their pace of scoring run minimised. The required run rate was far more than their current one. Despite having enough wickets in hand and skipper Steven Smith scoring a half-century, Pune failed to chase the target and gave away the game to their opponents, Mumbai Indians.
For Mumbai, pacer Jaspreet Bumrah and Mitchell Johnson turned out to be the game changers who made an impossible looking destination pretty achievable. Meanwhile, all the Mumbai fan who had their fingers crossed and hearts almost in their mouths erupted with joy in the microblogging site and their happiness is worth reading.
