IPL 2017 DD v SRH: Delhi beat Hyderabad by 6 wickets, still in hunt of play offs!

Delhi batsmen presented the best example of teamwork and won the game after 6 continuous losses

In the game number 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10, it was speculated that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will easily win the game after Yuvraj Singh played a phenomenal knock of 70 runs off 41 balls. Bu the way Delhi Daredevils (DD) made a comeback was truly impeccable. Not only the squad led by Karun Nair turned the game upside down but finally, after 6 losses, they managed to win this game by 6 wickets on their home ground, Feroz Shah Kotla.

After winning every game at their home, David Warner and Co. were scheduled to play their next game in Delhi on May 2. After winning the toss, Delhi’s stand-in skipper Karun Nair invited the Hyderabadi visitors to bat first. Hyderabad had an average start in beginning but Yuvraj Singh’s massive knock played the key role in putting a tough total of 185 runs on the board.

On the other hand, Delhi, who were already under pressure after setting the second lowest team total in this season, had a grand total of 186 runs to chase. The opening pair of Sanju Samson and Karun Nair gave a solid start to their team and added a total of 40 runs for the first wicket. In the fifth over, Samson was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj for 24 runs.

Later, Karun Nair (39), Rishabh Pant (34) and Shreyas Iyyer (34) provided the much-needed push to the team total and added 107 runs in the middle of the innings. Corey Anderson emerged as the highest scorer from Delhi side as he played a knock of 41 runs off 24 balls and hit 3 sixes and 2 fours. By the end of the game, Chris Morris joined the party with Anderson and score a quick 15 runs off 7 balls.

None of the Delhi batsmen played a big knock like Yuvraj’s but all of them played their best and presented the best example of teamwork and won the game by 6 wickets. With this win, Delhi has climbed to the sixth position in the points table with 6 six points surpassing the Gujarat Lions and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
