With Kieron Pollard’s sensible knock and rescuing his team from 7 for 4 was a treat to watch. MI might look for options in the opening pair though with Jos Buttler failing to fire over and over again. We might see Lendl Simmons or Asela Gunaratne taking his place in today’s match.
On the flipside skipper, Rohit Sharma’s contribution with the bat has been negligible as he has got out early to spinners in all 4 innings. Maybe, it’s time he gets bat to the opening spot and keeps Buttler for later. Rohit has got out three-time to a leg spinner, maybe today is his lucky day.
On the other hand, GL’s batting lineup has been looking strong from the previous game. With Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch and Dwayne Smith along with Suresh Raina, their top order looks as formidable as ever. Ravindra Jadeja is yet to be tested in the batting department.
Andrew Tye made a memorable debut as he picked up a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul. He is suddenly a sensation in IPL. He will be under the spotlight when GL is bowling. His knuckle-ball might come in handy in death overs when Pandya brothers launch their brutal onslaught.
