Yet another thriller show comes to an end after the Mumbai Indians smashed the Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets in the 7th game of the Indian Premier League 10. The game turned into a nail-biter one in the death overs. Mumbai needed 48 runs off the last 18 balls and while Hardik Pandya and Nitish Rana were on the crease. Hardik Pandya already had proved in Mumbai’s previous game against Punjab when he had hit 4 sixes in the last over. And yet another time, the responsibilities to chase the target came on his shoulders. Pandya, being a law abiding player of MI, took it till the end and finally, landed up grabbing the victory.

KKR set a target of 179 runs for Mumbai o chase. Parthiv Patel and Jason Roy came to open the innings. Roy, as always, started hitting right from the beginning while Parthiv Patel played slowly. Both Parthiv and Roy added a total of 65 runs for the first wicket. At the 8th over, Parthiv Patel was dismissed after scoring 30 and Nitish Rana came in at number 3. Soon, Mumbai lost their big man, Jason Roy and the Mumbai side was reduced to 71-2.

The skipper came into bat but unfortunately, a wrong decision from the umpire gave another reason to KKR to enjoy. Not so happy Mumbai skipper went back to the pavilion. The crowd of people present in the ground had another moment to shout as Kieron Pollard came into bat. With one six and one four, Pollard contributed 17 runs and was dismissed by Chris Woakes.

The last over specialist for Mumbai, Hardik Pandya was on the ground and accompanied with Nitish Rana, he took the inning closer to victory. Rana scored a marvellous half-century while Pandya finished the game with a boundary. With this game, Mumbai had its first victory and now standing at the fourth position in the points tally.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. KKR’s top order collapsed within no time but Manish Pandey scored a stunning 81 and put a fighting target of 178 for Mumbai.
