IPL 10 GL v MI: Aaron Finch dropped out from playing XI after he left his kit back in hotel!

It was a complete surprise for the fans and viewers as Finch was dropped due to this reason while Jason Roy came in for his place

In the game number 16 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10, the Gujarat Lions (GL) took on the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium. Gujarat skipper Suresh Raina won the toss and decided to bowl first. When he was asked by commentator Ravi Shastri about the changes in the team, he replied,”Jason Roy in place of Aaron Finch.”

It was a surprise for the fans and viewers that despite a good played in the last game against the Rising Pune Supergiant, Aaron finch has been dropped! But during the toss itself, Raina revealed the reason behind his absence in the squad. Raina said,”Unfortunately, Finch’s kit bag didn’t arrive on time, so he has been dropped and Roy takes his place. Hopefully, we post a good score and defend.”

Later, Brendon McCullum, who scored a heroic 64 off 44 runs, also stated the reason behind Finch not being in the playing XI and said,”Finch is also disappointed about that but I hope this should not happen with him next time.” Apart from Finch, Shahdab Jakati was also dropped for this game and Munaf Patel was picked in his place.

Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first. The Gujarat opening pair of Brendon McCullum and Dwayne couldn’t withstand long as Smith was dismissed in the second ball of the first over. But Brendon McCullum was back in the form and after hitting 3 sixes and 6 fours, he played a superb inning of 64 runs off 44 balls. Later, Dinesh Karthik also contributed well and scored 48 and remained not out till the end. The Gujarat Lions comfortably put a fighting score of 176 runs on the board after losing 4 wickets and set a target of 177 runs to chase for Mumbai.
